Every manufacturer wants to give extra protection to their products so here is how to make custom mirror packaging to alleviate the packaging pitfalls. Delivering fragile items like mirrors without any damage can be daunting for the manufacturers. There are always some risks while shipping mirrors, so a manufacturer has to make sure that there is no breakage or damage when a customer unpacks their product.
Corrugated material is suitable for the mirror boxes. It is available in different thicknesses which are known as flute size. Flutes are anchored in between the two layers of the corrugated layers in order to form a rigid packaging. There are different types of flutes available ranging from A flute to F-flute.
A-flue type has 33 layers of flutes and ¼ thickness making it the thickest corrugated flute. It doesn’t only provide protection to the mirrors but also serves as an insulator.
C-flute with 39 layers of flutes per linear foot is widely used for shipping fragile products. It provides good crushing resistance against heavyweights. You can also use B, E and F flute as per the requirements.
The best way to protect your mirrors is through the packaging foam. You can choose different packaging foam options like packing peanuts made up of polystyrene foam, padded foams, packaging foam (made up of Polyurethane or polyethylene) or packing paper. When mirrors are encased in the packaging foams, they remain protected from the heavy objects around.
Many manufacturers prefer packing foam instead of packing peanuts. Packing foams in the form of sheets or egg crates keep the items static while packing peanuts serve as a cushion only.
Make vertical custom mirror packaging in which mirrors can be placed vertically to minimize the chances of damage as they cannot take any pressure. So, if you want to avoid any breakage. Never make flat mirror boxes and always place them between two heavy and static objects.
